Priss’s reaction to the DK effect:

DK you should be honored you got an effect named after you…. Where’s the “Priss effect”?

Heh. That aside. I left a comment on Ian‘s blog with basically my reaction to the “DK effect”

Perhaps naming it the “DK effect” was uncalled for.. since it makes you sound like you’re targetting a specific blogger.

Perhaps… the “Pingster effect” ? >,<

What you blogged, I thought was quite obvious to most people… but as you mentioned, it’s just human nature and communities are often like that. I don’t think it’s a good or bad thing, it just is.

Let’s put it this way… Top 10 on Ping.sg is a reflection on what is most popular in the Ping.sg community on any single day. And a blog post by a fellow pingster would definitely be more popular and perhaps entertaining than a blog post by a random Joe (no offense to the Joes out there). But you see, I’d be more inclined to read my friend, fellow pingster, opinions and life more than a stranger’s.

You know, getting to the Top 10 of Ping.sg isn’t only based on your relationship with Pingsters, but also the time you posted your blog post.

But seriously, I’d rather read Simplyjean‘s post on Mas Selamat, than Joe’s post on Mas Selamat. Why? Because I’ve read her blog posts before, I know she can be quite insightful to news happening, and I enjoy reading her. I’m sure many would agree with me. And I did not click on DK’s 3am post even though it was in Top 10 (because I wasn’t interested in what he was doing at 3am). I have a job, I don’t have time weeding out good and bad blog posts and I click on a few Ping.sg top 10 post for my daily dose of News, opinion and mundane happenings in the world.

Let’s not get defensive and jump on Ian’s opinions because it is such opinions that get a community to discuss, debate and grow. Unfortunately , though, Pingsters do not agree with me with banning bigots and they view freedom of speech as a higher priority -shrugs-.
*BTW, please give me a pong when you see me on Ping.sg ok? Thanks for your support~~*

hehehe…
