I’ve been sick! I’ve got a Stye. Which is essentially a pimple inside the eyelid. It can be painful and I look like a monstrous freak show. Sorry, no pictures for you to see.

My internet has been wonky.

I’m going for a 3 Days 2 Nights Bintan trip!!!! WOOHOO!! HOLIDAY!

I’ve applied for 6 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate course. I still haven’t figured out what I want to study yet. I’m either going to end up with a Masters of Psychology, Masters of Counselling (a loser version of M. of Psych) or a Masters of Speech Therapy. Yes, I simply can’t stop talking and I want to talk for a living, or teach people how to talk.

My life’s in a bit of mess at the moment. I got a shock earlier because I realised my passport wasn’t at THE PLACE it was suppose to be. I moved and packed some things a few months back, and placed my passport amongst some clothes! Thanks to my greatest mom that eventually found my passport after a two hour scare. I thought I had to cancel my Bintan trip this weekend

Lately, many disasters are happening around the world. From Myanmmar’s cyclone, China (Sichuan)’s earthquake, India’s terrorist bombing – all within a short span of two weeks.

Yes, natural disasters is definitely not a new phenomena, I’m not saying that these countless deaths are anything new. There are many people dying and dead every day, every minute, every second.

Think. With each word I’m typing, someone just passed away. These people leave loved ones behind, every word I’m typing, someone’s crying for someone’s death.

I hate reading newspaper, because, most news aren’t good news. There are always someone dying. I feel sad when I read about deaths, sometimes I tear, sometimes I weep for them.

Whatever’s happening to our world? Nothing, and everything. Death is such a natural process, like living. We live, and we die.

Perhaps this blog post doesn’t serve any purpose.. perhaps it’s just a little girl ranting about this little world we live in. But I hope that when you are reading this, just stop for a moment and think about these innocent lives lost to disaster, terrorism, old age, accidents, diseases… feel their pain and the pain of their loved ones.. and remember that you are still alive.

Yes, always remember that it’s a blessing we are still alive, and our loved ones are still alive. Even if you had a bad day at school or work, or had a fight with your parents, or perhaps squabble between colleagues and friends… just remember that many people out there aren’t as lucky as us. Thank your God/Gods, that you’re still alive reading deadpris’s entry.

Human lives are so strong yet vulnerable. I’m not obsessed with death, but I am reminded everyday that I have a deadline. And because we all have a deadline to live, we have to treasure it. I am deadpris, because Priss will be gone someday, but I will not forget that death is always close by (hopefully by at least a good 50years more!). Do not forget that you will someday die, so that you will treasure each and every moment you have living. Ok?

The story of why my alias is D E A D P R I S :

When I was 15years old and started playing Counterstrike and other computer games, I had to chose an alias. I chose the alias deadrose. My relatives were quite concerned when they heard about my nickname and asked me why I chose this nickname. Death is a very taboo topic and not many people like to discuss about it (especially Chinese people).

Deadrose - A rose when dead (like a dried withered rose), cannot die again. And yet dried roses are so beautiful. Isn’t that perfect? A rose that is dead but beautiful.

Over the years, as more people started playing computer games and signing up for things on the internet, I found that it was quite difficult to register the alias deadrose in many places, hence in recent years, I’ve started to use the alias – Deadpris.

Although I’m not a zombie rose – dead and pretty – maybe I like my alias to serve as a reminder… that someday we will all die. Yes, I’m a very morbid person. I like to think about death. It’s because the beauty of death reminds us of how to live – living each day like it’s our last. We never know if we will die tomorrow!

For all you know, if 90dayjane was a real person wanting to die in 90days, she might have died tomorrow! What makes her so special as to chose when to die, she’s not God.

Love your friends and family, love everyone around you, don’t live your life with any regrets because you only have one chance to live! Be glad that you have this chance to make the best out of it and enjoy it while it last – many people do not even have that luxury!

My ex-classmate Esther Tan passed away when she was only 17 years young. She was too young. She never got to enjoy the joy of finding a nice guy to get married, never got to enjoy the pain for delivering a baby, never got to enjoy bringing her children up, never got to enjoy so many things in life.

I am deadpris, because we will all die someday.

But while we are still living, try to be happy and make others happy. Life is too short not to be.

I’m getting old and I guess I have to face reality – The Real World.

What’s this “Real World” people always talk about, I’ve heard the dangers and the politics involved… the geeky side of me says “It’s probably just a tougher game”

If life is a game, the past 10 over years of my life was just a prelude to the real game. You start off as a newbie and you decide your character’s build. Some character builds are better than others and may lead to a better character in the end game. I chose the slightly above average path which lead me to a degree in Psychology.

After getting a degree, I decided I might have built my character wrongly and it might have been a mistake to put stat points into Psych which is a very fun class but not very a very specialized class, but too bad for me, this game you cannot restart (nor can you create another character).

So after farming for stat points in the newbie areas for 10+ years, I finally become an Adult. In most MMORPGs you get to chose which class to become after a certain level, in the same way, I have chosen a path towards HR and a people related job. Now I have finally started on my new quests to gain fame points, items and money. The quests may not be as easy as the ones I did when I was still a newbie, but the rewards are much more.

Currently, I am aiming to hit level 10k/month before I reach 30 years old and I want to drive a BMW some day. When will I complete my quests and upgrade my items (I do not currently own a car though)….. I don’t know. But I know when I play MMORPGs, I usually build very good characters.

I’m so tired and I’m going to sleep. Work is really tough. But I’m just another player in this game of Life. What to do? Just do it.

Life lesson 1: Be nice. So others would be nice to you too [when you land on their expensive properties].

Life lesson 2: Monopolise. That’s the end game my friend, to own everything you can possibly own.

Life lesson 3: It’s not good to be bankrupt and forced to mortgage everything you own.

Life lesson 4: Land is everything. As my boyfriend nicely puts it “Gravity. Money is where land is.”

Life lesson 5: Know who to alliance with. I was allianced with the board’s richest property owner whom exchanged immunity with me if we land on each other’s properties.

Life lesson 6: Jail is a nice place to be if all else fails. At least you’re not paying rent on other people’s property!

Life lesson 6 may be funny and an exegerration, but think about it. If you’re broke, society have abandoned you, you’ve got no where else to go… the prison provides you with shelter and food. I’ve actually heard stories (donkey years ago) that some bangladash workers actually want to go to jail in Singapore because it beats living in their country. You get food, shelter and most basic nessecities provided for, why not?
