I loveeeee my iPhone and it is like the best gadget (it’s more than a phone!) that I own. I make calls, SMS, play games, read news, twitter, facebook with my awesome iPhone on a daily basis. Prettier Pictures with More Lomo iPhone app

Wow. So I was at the Laurier event at Cineleisure to take part in their Shooting Star challenge. Team 58 = Priss + Sab = We won 6th place!

Sab then asked me to take some pictures using her iPhone because she wanted to use the More Lomo app for iPhone. When I found out that this app changes certain brughtness and hue settings, I was so amazed by the pictures that came out. Especially when you compare before and after pictures, the difference is really big!

This was originally a random, not so flattering, plain, no-make-up, picture of me. Using the More Lomo iPhone app, it became a less ugly, less plain picture~ My lips even looks red!

I was reading about this “lomo” thing, and apparently there’s a term Lomography From wikipedia: Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, “happy accidents,” and alternative film processing are often considered part of the “Lomographic Technique.” I love it! I’m gonna go check out Hipstamatic iPhone app pretty soon as well..

New Apple iPhone 4G

After the launch of the iPad, I heard the news that a new apple iPhone will be out in the market very soon! Huh? How come I never hear any raving, excitement, craving for the new iPhone, like we usually do from Apple fans all over the world. Turns out, we did hear the buzz before the launch, except it’s for the leak of the new iPhone on Gizmodo! Gizmodo’s editor, Jason Chen, had his house searched and his computers confiscated during the raid.

That was a couple of months back, and since, there seems to be no news of it. Perhaps it is as what some reported, that Gizmodo took all the excitement out of the launch. And Steve Jobs is going to have a hard time trying to excite the media and the public with this iPhone that has already been revealed to the world months prior the launch.

It’s sad that Gizmodo isn’t even invited to the WWDC, why Steve Jobs so petty… Anyway, they will still be doing live blogging of WWDC with the help of their readers that are attending the event.

For the rest of the iPhone users… iPhone OS4 will be out end of this month, probably 24th June 2010 when the iPhone 4G is released.

The BEST iPhone Game – Plants vs Zombie

I have played Plant vs Zombie game on my computer middle of last year and I found the game really addictive and fun. It’s a mix between a puzzle game and a linear tower defence. I really love playing tower defence games, be it on Warcraft 3 mini game, or web browser or iPhone game.

My favourite tower defense game so far has got to be Fieldrunners. The game is very dynamic and the basic map is just a plain field for you to place your “towers” so you can defend your castle from being invaded. Sort of.

Well, for Plant vs Zombie, while I have downloaded the game and paid $2.99 for it, I bought it knowing it’s going to be an awesome game. If you like simple puzzle games, or dynamic tower defense games, you’ll definitely love PvZ for iPhone!

The game concept is simple, the gameplay is fun and simple (for dummies), each game level is short but the upgrades are plenty. Basically, just go download it and you won’t regret it! The music for this mini game is very well selected, graphics are really cute, even the naming of the plants are creative. The creators of Plants versus Zombies really put in effort and creative juice into making this a simple and yet entertaining game. Trust me, I spent hours everynight for 2 weeks playing this game on my computer. Which is really rare since I’m more of an “online gamer”, playing more MMORPGs and online team based FPS games.

I can’t wait to get started building my awesome garden of plants attacking zombies that are trying to destroy my house!

I’m blogging using the wordpress app for iPhone! How cool is that the app is compatible with wordpress blog or self-hosted wordpress sites running version 2.7 or higher. One more reason for net savvy people like my dearest readers to get an iPhone! Not that there isn’t enough reasons to get one yesterday!

In the past year, I think the best buy of 2009 must have been my iPhone 3GS. I loveeeeee using my iPhone for so many reasons…

1. It tells me where to go, how to go, where else I can go

2. I can browse anywhere

3. I can check my email anytime

4. I can book cinema tickets on the go

5. I can listen to iPod

6. I can play many many games

7. I can check carpark rates all over Singapore

8. I can watch youtube videos

9. I can message any iPhone user in the world for free

WhatsApp versus Ping! Conclusion: WhatsApp is better!

I paid $0.99 for the Ping! app on iPhone two months ago when I first got my iPhone 3GS. I love the iPhone, don’t get me wrong. The iPhone has the most wonderful functions such as awesome free and paid games, applications, email functionality, reading PDF and document files, iPod, and an *option* to jailbreak.

HOWEVER. The Ping! app – which supposedly lets you communicate with other iPhone users using 3G or WiFi connection that has the same application – DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. I have viewed their FAQ site and concluded it’s too troublesome for me to do something about me not able to send nor receive using the application.

THEN, I got to know about WhatsApp. A similar application for iPhone that allows users to chat with an internet connection, just like you would on BlackBerry Messenger. The app seemed to work wonderfully for the first couple of weeks, however, the nightmare came when they did the recent update on the application – version 2.3.

Let me share with you why WhatsApp is better than Ping! first. WhatsApp automatically logs you in as your handphone number, so you don’t have to create a separate user name to use the application and all your friends that are using WhatsApp will automatically be added into your friends list. This function alone, beats Ping! hands down. Both Ping! and WhatsApp uses push messenging, meaning it notifies you when you have messages instantly on your phone, just like a normal SMS alert. The chat log is similar to your normal iPhone SMS and can be customized as well. In the recent screwed up update, they also added a few cool functionality such as sending pictures over WhatsApp and changing the alert tone. They are also currently working on making a similar application for the BlackBerry users, so it would imply that in future, BlackBerry and iPhone users can chat for FREE over the internet with this application.

THE PROBLEM arose when they decided to add funky features to WhatsApp, and as a result, some iPhone users around the world cannot connect to WhatsApp using 3G internet connection. Even when we connect to WiFi, after trying to connect to 3G, the program fails to work. The only work-around available on the internet at the moment is to uninstall and reinstall the program. You won’t be charged for installing a program that you have already previously owned, so don’t worry. However, this isn’t a permanent solution and it’s a bitch to keep having to reinstall the program.

Version 2.4 just came out yesterday, but I am still skeptical about whether the problems have truly been fixed. Also, I heard you cannot send messages to users using different versions of WhatsApp! I do hope that all these problems can be solved soon because I really love the application! I’ve got many friends that are residing overseas, as well as friends that have been traveling, so using the application allows me to SMS them for FREE!

Dumb iPhone application

This is by far, the most ridiculous app I have came across for the iPhone. An application that measures how long you can throw your iPhone in the air and drop it for. Who the *beep* is so insane to throw their iPhones around like that?!

Hang Time measures how long your iPhone is in free fall by using its internal accelerometers. For $1, you can throw your phone up in the air, and when it lands, hopefully in your hand, it will tell you how much “hang time” your phone got. The makers of Hang Time have also set up a web page that keeps the statistics of people using the application. Check out a video of someone putting Hang Time to good (i.e., bad) use:

I finally got an iPhone!

My dad’s business affiliate gave him an iPhone, and when he tried to insert the sim card, he accidentally spoilt the speakers of the iPhone. Luckily for me, he decided it was too much hassle for him to fix it up so he gave it to me!

Sadly, the iPhone seems to think that headphones have been plugged into the socket even when it is not. I googled and apparently it’s quite a common problem amongst iPhone users. Sadly again, all the solutions posted on the forums can’t seem to help with my phone For the time being, I’ll probably use a blue tooth headset with my iPhone until I decide to get it fixed

I’ve already downloaded so many iPhone applications for my iPhone… but I have another problem with the iPhone… This problem I have with touch screens… My fingers are too fat! I keep pressing the wrong keys on the phone!

I’m sure things will work out for me and my iPhone… I’m a proud iPhone user now!
