Sab then asked me to take some pictures using her iPhone because she wanted to use the More Lomo app for iPhone. When I found out that this app changes certain brughtness and hue settings, I was so amazed by the pictures that came out. Especially when you compare before and after pictures, the difference is really big!

This was originally a random, not so flattering, plain, no-make-up, picture of me. Using the More Lomo iPhone app, it became a less ugly, less plain picture~ My lips even looks red!

I was reading about this “lomo” thing, and apparently there’s a term Lomography From wikipedia: Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, “happy accidents,” and alternative film processing are often considered part of the “Lomographic Technique.” I love it! I’m gonna go check out Hipstamatic iPhone app pretty soon as well..

My favourite tower defense game so far has got to be Fieldrunners. The game is very dynamic and the basic map is just a plain field for you to place your “towers” so you can defend your castle from being invaded. Sort of.

Well, for Plant vs Zombie, while I have downloaded the game and paid $2.99 for it, I bought it knowing it’s going to be an awesome game. If you like simple puzzle games, or dynamic tower defense games, you’ll definitely love PvZ for iPhone!

The game concept is simple, the gameplay is fun and simple (for dummies), each game level is short but the upgrades are plenty. Basically, just go download it and you won’t regret it! The music for this mini game is very well selected, graphics are really cute, even the naming of the plants are creative. The creators of Plants versus Zombies really put in effort and creative juice into making this a simple and yet entertaining game. Trust me, I spent hours everynight for 2 weeks playing this game on my computer. Which is really rare since I’m more of an “online gamer”, playing more MMORPGs and online team based FPS games.

I can’t wait to get started building my awesome garden of plants attacking zombies that are trying to destroy my house!

HOWEVER. The Ping! app – which supposedly lets you communicate with other iPhone users using 3G or WiFi connection that has the same application – DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. I have viewed their FAQ site and concluded it’s too troublesome for me to do something about me not able to send nor receive using the application.

THEN, I got to know about WhatsApp. A similar application for iPhone that allows users to chat with an internet connection, just like you would on BlackBerry Messenger. The app seemed to work wonderfully for the first couple of weeks, however, the nightmare came when they did the recent update on the application – version 2.3.

Let me share with you why WhatsApp is better than Ping! first. WhatsApp automatically logs you in as your handphone number, so you don’t have to create a separate user name to use the application and all your friends that are using WhatsApp will automatically be added into your friends list. This function alone, beats Ping! hands down. Both Ping! and WhatsApp uses push messenging, meaning it notifies you when you have messages instantly on your phone, just like a normal SMS alert. The chat log is similar to your normal iPhone SMS and can be customized as well. In the recent screwed up update, they also added a few cool functionality such as sending pictures over WhatsApp and changing the alert tone. They are also currently working on making a similar application for the BlackBerry users, so it would imply that in future, BlackBerry and iPhone users can chat for FREE over the internet with this application.

THE PROBLEM arose when they decided to add funky features to WhatsApp, and as a result, some iPhone users around the world cannot connect to WhatsApp using 3G internet connection. Even when we connect to WiFi, after trying to connect to 3G, the program fails to work. The only work-around available on the internet at the moment is to uninstall and reinstall the program. You won’t be charged for installing a program that you have already previously owned, so don’t worry. However, this isn’t a permanent solution and it’s a bitch to keep having to reinstall the program.

Version 2.4 just came out yesterday, but I am still skeptical about whether the problems have truly been fixed. Also, I heard you cannot send messages to users using different versions of WhatsApp! I do hope that all these problems can be solved soon because I really love the application! I’ve got many friends that are residing overseas, as well as friends that have been traveling, so using the application allows me to SMS them for FREE!
