The story of why my alias is D E A D P R I S :

When I was 15years old and started playing Counterstrike and other computer games, I had to chose an alias. I chose the alias deadrose. My relatives were quite concerned when they heard about my nickname and asked me why I chose this nickname. Death is a very taboo topic and not many people like to discuss about it (especially Chinese people).

Deadrose - A rose when dead (like a dried withered rose), cannot die again. And yet dried roses are so beautiful. Isn’t that perfect? A rose that is dead but beautiful.

Over the years, as more people started playing computer games and signing up for things on the internet, I found that it was quite difficult to register the alias deadrose in many places, hence in recent years, I’ve started to use the alias – Deadpris.

Although I’m not a zombie rose – dead and pretty – maybe I like my alias to serve as a reminder… that someday we will all die. Yes, I’m a very morbid person. I like to think about death. It’s because the beauty of death reminds us of how to live – living each day like it’s our last. We never know if we will die tomorrow!

For all you know, if 90dayjane was a real person wanting to die in 90days, she might have died tomorrow! What makes her so special as to chose when to die, she’s not God.

Love your friends and family, love everyone around you, don’t live your life with any regrets because you only have one chance to live! Be glad that you have this chance to make the best out of it and enjoy it while it last – many people do not even have that luxury!

My ex-classmate Esther Tan passed away when she was only 17 years young. She was too young. She never got to enjoy the joy of finding a nice guy to get married, never got to enjoy the pain for delivering a baby, never got to enjoy bringing her children up, never got to enjoy so many things in life.

I am deadpris, because we will all die someday.

But while we are still living, try to be happy and make others happy. Life is too short not to be.

the new 90dayjane blog http://90-day-jane.blogspot.com/ which declare 90dayjane to be taking the suicide blog as an experiment might not even be the real 90dayjane !!!  Which would explain why  http://90dayjane.com domain isn’t re-directed to the “new” blog!!!

Ok, maybe I’m paranoid this time again. As I said in my previous post regarding malware detected on Ping.sg, I have a trust issue when it comes to the Internet.

90dayjane finally decides to tell everyone that she was doing an experiment – she wasn’t going to kill herself. I figured that out with my boyfriend a few days ago because of the way she talked about it. We even imagined various scenarios – she’s an emo transvestite, art & media student submitting a thesis, attention whore, or simply – nuts.

Thank god she’s really just doing an experiment – I’m quite sick of people threatening to kill themselves (the attention whores).

In the video above I created a PostSecret revealing this project for what it is. I am in no way affiliated with them, but their site does great work for suicide outreach. At any rate, PostSecret gives me both strength and perspective whenever I read it. I hope it does the same for you.

SEE. That LOOKS like a Youtube video but it is in fact NOT a Youtube video…

Why Jane… why would you put a picture of a Youtube video but that picture links to ANOTHER website that looks like 90dayjane’s blog!

Look at the website it was linked to. IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE 90DAYJANE‘s ORIGINAL WEBSITE !!! But it is hosted on http://cnn08.com AND it started popping up things for me to install a SETUP.EXE ……… WHHHAT? Youtube doesn’t do that to me, so that video couldn’t have been from youtube.

So I clicked on http://cnn08.com and it does look like a video hosting site – from CNN ! The site popped up yet another box asking me to install SETUP.EXE ?!?!

Hmmm… why would CNN do such a thing to their internet users? It doesn’t make any sense !

So I typed CNN.COM directly into my internet browser – the REAL CNN homepage, and clicked on CNN’s video page… Lo and behold…. IT DOES NOT POP UP ANY .EXE THINGIE FOR ME TO INSTALL.

Ok, now when you compare the facts…

1. cnn08.com is obviously a fake that tries to force you to install a SETUP.exe
2. CNN’s video page is obviously different from cnn08.com
3. Phishing websites impersonate trustworthy websites for the purpose of obtaining your personal or financial information. (Taken from Microsoft)
4. 90dayjane linked people to another spoof of 90dayjane website and forces people to install SETUP.exe to view her latest video

Is it just me…………….. or is this cnn08.com and 90dayjane trying to make us install something BAD ?

Taking advice from U-zyn, a website can’t harm you. It’s when they make you install ActiveX or other setup files that might lead to your computer getting infected.

Am I still paranoid this time around?
