Another awesome movie coming our way… Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, has robots boxing! That’s how cool la!

If I had a robot that’s going for boxing match… I don’t think the funky gadgets on the robot will determine whether he’s good or not… I think all that matters would be the robot’s materials and the robot’s fighting abilities. My robot would be pink, cute and damn deadly.

With a current IMDB.com rating of 7.2, I’m really looking forward to catching this movie!

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now, nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

O M G… we have waited 10 years for Diablo 3 to be released!!! Over these years, there have been many rumors of Diablo 3 releasing, but looks like this time… by end of this year… we will get to play the long awaited D3 !!!

Ok so Diablo 3 beta was out a few days ago… I was kinda busy with work (as usual) to update my blog… But I finally got around to signing up for Diablo 3 beta and it looks more complicated that it should at first… But it’s actually pretty easy. So how to signup to be a Diablo 3 beta tester?

1. Create an account or login your account with Battle.net

2. Click on Account on the top right on your screen

3. Click on “Beta Profile Setting” on the right column

4. Select either Mac or Windows user. They will download and install a program into your computer to detect your computer specifications.

5. After sending your PC specs to the site, just click back on the same page and you should see this page instead

This beta testing system seems to apply for Warcraft and Starcraft games as well… After the above steps… all you can do is just sit and wait for the email to arrive… *twiddles thumb*

Wahahhahaa… I’m still very amused by this Facebook app for the Fright Night movie…

Took me less than 5 minutes to create this with the Fight Night Facebook app… You can try it here too!  You can upload a photo from your computer, use a Facebook picture or take a picture with your webcam and upload it to the app. Next, just add in your vampire effects such as fangs or blood to the image and voila~!

I’m really looking forward to watching this movie next week! Vampires have been trending again these couple of years, with all sorts of TV dramas and movies depicting different kinds of vampires with different angles.. I’m pretty excited to see what kind of vampires Fright Night will have. To be honest, I am more interested to watch the movie for David Tennant rather than Colin Ferrall or the other actors. For those of you who don’t already know, David Tennant is a British actor and was one of the BEST Doctors of the Doctor Who series in the UK. Fright Night currently has an IMDB.com rating of 6.9, which sounds really promising!

Senior Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

I have ranted before how much I adore my hairdresser, Teo Huifen. She has been cutting my hair for the past 4 years and she never once let me down. Recently, she left her old hair salon Jeric at Plaza Singapura… and I was seriously panicking where to find her! What if she disappears and I can’t find her again!! Then no need to cut hair anymore ah? So anyway, I managed to hunt her down a few weeks back and she started work at a new salon with some of her previous colleagues from Jeric as well (I heard).

The big question that has been going around is…. Which Tan are you voting for? With Tan Tan Tan Tan running for president, it might seem quite a tough choice, since you can no longer vote based on someone’s surname. Many of my friends and colleagues that I’ve asked still cannot decide who to vote for.

I guess, then, the question is: what makes a good president?

What Makes a Good President

1. The wave.

A good president should have a good wave. I think future presidents wannabes should always practice their waves infront of the mirror. Although hand waving seem to be a very simple gesture, but different kind of waves send people different signals. For example, the other day I stopped by a police road block and I thought the policeman waved at me to ask me to leave. It turns out that he was waving at me and asking me to stop. The incident nearly turned into a scene from Grand Theft Auto. This incident could have been prevented if only he had a better, clearer, wave. He should be sending clear and strong message that : I’m the president of Singapore, my job is to wave well and look good.

Another hand movement that is crucial for a president is the shake. You know how in the business world, people would often assess the other party by how firm his handshake? Since the president is Singapore’s figurehead, he would definitely need to have a good and firm handshake. From the below picture, you can see that SR Nathan has been doing a very fine job in this area.

2. Looking cool and regal in pictures

Alvinology photoshopped some pictures of potential presidential candidates for 2011 and judging on his compilation… I would say George Yeo scores the most point in this area. Too bad George Yeo isn’t running for the elections. Not only should the president look good in the portrait pictures, his wife must also be able to compliment him. I think the best example would be Obama. Michelle and Barack Obama look really good together!

Although in Singapore, looking like hip celebrities can actually be a disadvantage because it might give the impression of non-seriousness. Look at SR Nathan.

Last but not least…

3. Able to take care of Istana with over $4 million a year

This is the most important point to take into account when considering who you want as your future Singapore president. The person must be able to take care of Istana. The Istana is a 106 acre estate, Singapore’s equivalent of The White House, also the President’s home for the duration of his job.

The President of Singapore holds the highest paying political position in the world (overhand salary). However, he needs to pay for his staff and I’m guessing electrical and water bills for his big house! There are so many animals, rooms, fountains, plants, golf course and other facilities, and also people managing the Istana, I’m surprised that the president only gets $4 million! I suggest that all presidential hopefuls to submit their 4 year plan on how they will upgrade, maintain and uphold the prestigious name and structure of the Istana.

So when casting your vote for Singapore’s next president 2011 this 27 August 2011, do think about what are the qualities that you really want from your president. Whether you are voting for Tony Tan, Tan Cheng Bock, Tan Kin Lian or Tan Jee Say, I do hope that you would take the above 3 points into consideration.

I absolutely love my new DKNY shades! It’s a present from Sabrina and one major reason why I love it so much is because it actually rests well on my nose. I have quite a flat nose bridge and it can’t support many of the designer shades out there. Most sun glasses just don’t fit my nose right. *hmph* This pair of sunnies really look good on me
