Nokia X6 - Best Music Phone I’ve Reviewed

The first impression I got from the Nokia X6 was that it looked like any other sleek and cool Nokia phones out in the market. It looked great, felt great, and the best part – it’s a touch phone! I’m not sure how many of you out there are crazy about touch screen phones, but it does add a whole lot of functionality capabilities.

When I first received the Nokia X6, I was told that its greatest plus point is the music function of the X6. So immediately I started to play some of the default music that came with the X6 and I was surprised. The music quality was superb! Seriously, it sounded like the phone came with an in-built bass! I was listening to some music on the Nokia X6 while talking to my friends online over voice chat, and they were even surprised that music quality sounds so good over my microphone to their speakers! I think Nokia played it right this time, to target a niche market of music-crazy mobile phone users. What’s more, the phone comes with 32Gb on-board memory, which means you can store crazy amount of music in your phone!

How Nokia distinguishes itself from other handset makers in the musical phone industry is with its unlimited music download service “Comes With Music”. The site Comes With Music http://www.nokia.com.sg/explore-services/music/comes-with-music have millions of songs that you can download for free! My set even came with a Nokia headphone to listen to my endless choices of songs!

Another factor of the Nokia X6 is its home screen, it can display your emails, facebook contacts, RSS feeds linked directly from your homepage. It is obvious that this phone not only targets the youths that loves their music, but people that love their social networking tools to be part of their mobile phones. Over all, the phone feels nice to touch, by that I mean the screen is sensitive enough to accurately display what I select. It is definitely by far more sensitive than many other touch screen phones in the market currently. Nokia also added a setting to prevent clicking wrong buttons; you would have to double click on some of the options to select them.

The best part of the Nokia X6 is definitely its simplicity. As I’m not a frequent Nokia phone user, I’m not sure how Nokia have evolved its GUI, I’ve heard that some Nokia phones come with very complicated interface with many applications that people don’t use. However, with the Nokia X6, the menu only pops up 12 options ranging from phone setting to Apps. The menu interface is not cluttered and the home screen interface gives its users maximum interactability.

The X6 is already out in Singapore stores and the last I heard, it’s selling at about SG$1000 or $380+ with a Singtel plan. For a phone that is simple, sweet, great sound, great camera, it’s definitely a good deal!

Jack Neo - Women Not Enough

Wow Wow. Looks like another women came out to confess she had an affair with Jack Neo a few years ago, Foyce Le Xuan - what kind of name is that ?! It’s like voice but with a V. Strange.

According to AsiaOne’s Shin Min Daily News reported that there have been 11 women Jack Neo has been sleeping with. He really find “women not enough” right? Apparently, some of them slept with him to get bigger roles in the filming industry.

You know what, after this news is leaked, I bet there will be many fame crazy girls trying to sleep with Jack Neo. All these girls, including Jack Neo, should get themselves checked for STDs and HIVs. Once upon a time, we ignorant Singaporeans thought that only the Hong Kong and Hollywood filming industries were covered with so much dirt and sex scandals, apparently it has been happening in Singapore too.

When Edison Chen leaked his sex scandal videos, he had such a negative response that he had to flee the country. I’m wondering now… why Singaporeans are not boycotting Jack Neo’s films? Previously, his wife said she will close one eye about his affair… My guess is, she has been closing two eyes.

Jack Neo’s Affair - with ugly “model” girl

Looks like it’s in trend for famous powerful rich men to have extramarital affairs. Nothing surprising. Just that it’s being reported more in the news lately. Jack Neo’s 梁智强 affair with 22 year old “model”, Wendy Chong 钟佳燕, seems strange though… For one, is that girl really a model? They posted a really unflattering picture of her on Straits Times online article and she doesn’t look appealing at all.

Secondly, is it strange that Jack Neo’s wife is taking this so calmly? Would Jack Neo be as generous as his wife as to close one eye if she got caught cheating and made national news? She claims she has known about the affair for a year and still forgives him.. I suppose that’s what most traditional Asian families do, so as long as the men are bringing in the dough, they just STFU.

I sometimes wonder if these women stay on in their marriage just for their husband’s fame and money. Perhaps in the Asian context, it’s for their pride and children as well. Either way, when a spouse cheats on his/her family, the children suffers the most.

Either way it’s a lose lose situation. I suggest that if Jack Neo can’t keep his penis in his pants and they still want to keep their marriage, that he allows his wife to do the same. At least both parties have some form of relieve from each other since obviously neither care about extramarital sex and seem pretty fine with the idea. Win - win ?

Back to the “model”…. You want to break up people’s home and create a scene when you’re the third party… Wow. Shame on you. The least you could do is take Uncle Neo’s money and spread your legs and STFU as well.

Singapore IT Show 2010 is here~

The 2 shows I love to visit every year in Singapore is none other than the annual IT Show and SITEX, Singapore’s computer and electronic fairs. The IT Show 2010 will be here on 11th to 14th March 2010 at Suntec City 12noon to 9pm daily.

I don’t really have much to buy for this IT show and the crowd is expected to be… well… really CROWDED! The IT Show 2010 will be occupying level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 of Suntec Converntion hall and judging from past experiences, parking will be really bad. The good thing is, admission is free, so you can hop by Suntec after work to hunt for your bargains.

The BEST iPhone Game - Plants vs Zombie

I have played Plant vs Zombie game on my computer middle of last year and I found the game really addictive and fun. It’s a mix between a puzzle game and a linear tower defence. I really love playing tower defence games, be it on Warcraft 3 mini game, or web browser or iPhone game.

My favourite tower defense game so far has got to be Fieldrunners. The game is very dynamic and the basic map is just a plain field for you to place your “towers” so you can defend your castle from being invaded. Sort of.

Well, for Plant vs Zombie, while I have downloaded the game and paid $2.99 for it, I bought it knowing it’s going to be an awesome game. If you like simple puzzle games, or dynamic tower defense games, you’ll definitely love PvZ for iPhone!

The game concept is simple, the gameplay is fun and simple (for dummies), each game level is short but the upgrades are plenty. Basically, just go download it and you won’t regret it! The music for this mini game is very well selected, graphics are really cute, even the naming of the plants are creative. The creators of Plants versus Zombies really put in effort and creative juice into making this a simple and yet entertaining game. Trust me, I spent hours everynight for 2 weeks playing this game on my computer. Which is really rare since I’m more of an “online gamer”, playing more MMORPGs and online team based FPS games.

I can’t wait to get started building my awesome garden of plants attacking zombies that are trying to destroy my house!

City Alive 2010

City Alive 2010 was held at Pit Building beside the Singapore flyer, although I felt that the music was better this year, the crowd seemed less hyped. Perhaps I left before 12 midnight and the party hasn’t warmed up yet. There were definitely a diversity of party goers that night with Caucasians, locals, teenagers, working adults etc. Alcohol were served at City Alive, and from what I could see, they served Beer and Bicardi for $6 a cup and up.

There were a few booths at the party including a hair spray booth and air brush tattoo.I did my hair orange and pink strips for FREE! and had the City Alive’s logo tattooed on my arm. Sorry I didn’t had any pictures of that, but trust me, it was so cool. There were many dancers strutting their stuff as well as Japanese and Singaporean B-boys performing in the middle of the dance area. It was quite crowded so we could only catch their performance via live video screening.

It was definitely an awesome event to attend after the Chingay, and I knew a few party goers that bought tickets to City Alive straight after Chingay. Next time, buy your City Alive tickets beforehand since it is more expensive at the door!

Opening of Universal Studio & Sentosa Casino Resort

I’m one of the lucky few (hundreds) of people that got to be at the opening of the Universal Studio theme park in Singapore yesterday. We got the tickets because we knew a certain someone but the point is… Tickets to view the unopened rides in the theme park has already been sold out for the whole week!!

I was surprised at the overwhelming response to viewing the unopened resort and theme park, but perhaps not so since many were eager to view Singapore’s casino. Singaporeans visiting the casino would have to pay $100 per 24 hours umnlimited entrace into the casino but that did not deter gambling hungry and curious visitors. The casino area was completely packed!

The rides and entertainment areas seems promising. To be honest, I think it’s definitely a better theme park than disney land in Hongkong! I can’t wait for the rollercoasters to be opened! That’s right, there’s 2 Battlestar Galactica themed roller coasters - the human and cylons!

Food in the theme park were reasonably priced with many variety of food to pick from under $10 budget. I guess the most expensive part of the trip was the parking. Parking at most hotel resorts in Sentosa’s casino and theme park area is $7 for 1st hour and $2 every hour thereafter.

I had a great time at Universal Studio’s soft launch and I really can’t wait for the theme park to be fully operational!

About “Rental Flats People”

You know those people on the news complaining about “rental flat people” living near them? I really don’t understand what they are complaining about. I read on Straits Times today that they were afraid that these “smokers and drinkers” would lead their children astray. Ridiculous! You mean only people that live in rental flats smokes and drinks? Use your brain la! Well of course “rental flat people” smoke cheaper and drink beer as compared to richer people that smoke cigar and drink wine, big difference! What I’m saying is, if the parents can’t teach them properly, even if they don’t smoke or drink, they’ll still end up scums of the society. On the other hand, if you were brought up in a good environment, even if you smoke and drink, you’ll still become a useful person in the society.

As for the rest of their concerns, if you aren’t happy with the way the blocks are maintained then complain to HDB to be stricter with the rules, you can’t ask HDB to stop building rental flats near your house?! How does that even make sense?

You know in the same way these “HDB people” look down on “rental flat people”, many “Condominium people” also look down on you guys! Shocking news? Things I’ve heard the “Condominium people” say is that HDBs have no facilities, no security guards, dirty, rubbish bin stinks at the lobby, spoilt bicycle and junk littered everywhere. So go ahead “HDB people”, go look down on those “rental flat people”… Just know that you are judged as well by the private property people as well.

Do these people even think before they speak? Do they really want to segregate Singapore’s property into different Socioeconomic classes? If you don’t want to live beside rental flats, then go work harder earn more money and move to “better” neighborhoods! Money can’t buy everything, but if you don’t have money then stop complaining about people that are poorer than you! If you have money, then go hire people to help you complain instead

City Alive! 2010 Tickets Giveaway!

I attended City Alive! last year and it was much fun! There was booze, dancing, DJ spinning great music and it was a really blasted party! City Alive! is back again this year with a bigger dance floor and more crowd to be expected… that means more fun!

This year’s City Alive! 2010 will be held at Pit Building, where we will be able to catch the backdrop of the Singapore Flyer. Space Cowboy (United Kingdom) will be making his debut appearance in Singapore at the City Alive! 2010, along with other international acts like DJ Sarasa (Japan) and All Area Crew (Japan), as well as local artists such as DJ Andrew T, DJ Inquisitive and Singapore top B-boys, Radikal Forze.

This is the third time City Alive! is held in our little party island by People’s Association (PA) and People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) and they are expecting a turn out of 8000 people this year!

The party will be held after Chingay, and there’s going to be a HUGEEEE dance floor, I’m not sure if that’s the largest dance floor in Singapore but it stretches 360 metres!
