Sure, there was a point I considered doing advertorial for other international (mostly American) marketing campaign sites, but they had all kinds of strange ads! For example, blog post on gambling websites, slot machines, soft porn sites etc. I wouldn’t have wanted my blog to be tainted with those advertorials!

Ok so Diablo 3 beta was out a few days ago… I was kinda busy with work (as usual) to update my blog… But I finally got around to signing up for Diablo 3 beta and it looks more complicated that it should at first… But it’s actually pretty easy. So how to signup to be a Diablo 3 beta tester?

1. Create an account or login your account with Battle.net

2. Click on Account on the top right on your screen

3. Click on “Beta Profile Setting” on the right column

4. Select either Mac or Windows user. They will download and install a program into your computer to detect your computer specifications.

5. After sending your PC specs to the site, just click back on the same page and you should see this page instead

Computer and online security is something that I place really alot of emphasis on. I would often help my friends and family install their operating systems and the FIRST thing I would do, is install an anti-virus software on their system. There are so many malicious virus, malwares, adwares, trojans etc. on the internet, IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY! :O Besides getting a good anti-virus program, people should be educated to practise “safe surfing” on the internet. Here are some guidelines of internet safety that I strictly follow.

1. Never download any suspicious files from emails or messenger. Even if the sender is someone you know personally, the files sent from their emails might be a virus! If you really want to download the file, check with the person what the contest is, and if it’s not important… DON’T DOWNLOAD IT!

2. Be careful of internet hoax! My mom was a victim of an email hoax that was forwarded to her by her friends. She then forwarded the hoax to many of her friends. When I checked out the email and notified her that it was a hoax, she had to send an apology email to everyone! An example of hoax would be: if there is a file called XYZ in your computer (instructions given how to look foe the file), then you have got a virus! go delete the file! -_-

3. Always turn on Pop-up blocker. If you visit a website that requires pop-ups, then manually select to enable pop-up for that site.

4. NEVER click on anything that pop-ups or flashing on your screen. If there’s a pop-up that ask you to click on “Yes”, and you have no idea what it is, DON’T CLICK ON IT! You might be giving permission to an adware to install some nasty spam advertising into your browser!

5. Always make sure you have a reliable up to date anti-virus! If your anti-virus is expired and not updated with the latest virus definitions, it’s as good as useless.

6. Porn sites and illegal sites usually have the most viruses lurking around. Make sure you are well protected before entering such sites! Safe sex in real life, safe internet practices online is just as important!

7. If you login to your accounts in a public computer, remember to always LOG OFF.

8. If you are unsure whether the message, file, pop-up, download has virus or malware in them, GOOGLE IT!

9. If you are still unsure if the file is safe or not, and it isn’t important to download the file, then DON’T DOWNLOAD IT! (Sorry grandma, I never download any of the powerpoint slides of pictures you sent me!)

10. If money is a factor to you when getting an anti-virus software, go download a free one at least. Try adding define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); to your wp-config.php file just below the define(‘DB_HOST’ line.

Finally my WordPress Visual WYSIWYG editor appeared again!

So if you’re facing the problem described below, then give it a try! Other suggestions to solve this problem was to de-activate and re-activate plugins, reinstall WordPress update, and slamming your keyboard 10 times. That was a joke.

I’ve just tried to create a new post, and found that the WYSIWYG editor is no longer available. The normal buttons at the top have gone, all you see is Upload/Insert, the same as for the HTML editor. When I click in the space below, HTML code appears:
, or <p /p>.

I tried opening an existing post, and initially the WYSIWYG editor was blank. No text. I clicked on HTML, then went back to WYSIWYG, and the HTML text appeared.

I’ve tried it on 2 computers, with IE, Firefox and Chrome. The same. I.e. it doesn’t appear to be a problem with my local setup.

It’s scary that this is my first time experiencing a “guy’s night out” thing and I don’t know how to feel about it. I feel angry, sad, suspicious, outcasted etc. etc.

The reason why I always loved to tag along with a bunch of guys is, I feel so much more comfortable hanging out with guys than with the girls.

Seriously? I would feel more awkward if it’s with a bunch of girls!

Mind you, this is a gamer guys night out. A few of them haven’t met each other before. So it’s more awkward if a new girl joins them than a new guy joins them.

Just so it’s not double standards, I don’t believe in “girl’s night out” as well. Possibly because I don’t really enjoy them, with the exception of 1 bunch of girls I’ve been hanging out with for the past 10 years.

Girls in general are bitchy, conniving, obnoxious when they gather. Many things they do or say comes with hidden meaning or agenda. When boys gather, they just act stupid and lame. That’s my stereotype, and I definitely prefer the latter.

With a bunch of girls, they don’t understand when I tell them “I need to go back by 10pm because I have an online match”. I can’t boast to them my 1337 skills or levels. We can’t share our experiences of the latest games and gadgets. With a bunch of boys, we can talk about everything and look stupid, and it’s okay.

Guys seem to have a perception that girls can’t take racist, sexist, lame jokes. Or that us girls are easily offended by the slightest insult, or that we’re “party poopers”. Well, I can’t speak for other girls, but I’m definitely not one.

Looks like this Saturday I’m staying home, alone, like a man, playing computer games and watching anime. Otaku life FTW.

That was a couple of months back, and since, there seems to be no news of it. Perhaps it is as what some reported, that Gizmodo took all the excitement out of the launch. And Steve Jobs is going to have a hard time trying to excite the media and the public with this iPhone that has already been revealed to the world months prior the launch.

It’s sad that Gizmodo isn’t even invited to the WWDC, why Steve Jobs so petty… Anyway, they will still be doing live blogging of WWDC with the help of their readers that are attending the event.

For the rest of the iPhone users… iPhone OS4 will be out end of this month, probably 24th June 2010 when the iPhone 4G is released.
