I absolutely love my new DKNY shades! It’s a present from Sabrina and one major reason why I love it so much is because it actually rests well on my nose. I have quite a flat nose bridge and it can’t support many of the designer shades out there. Most sun glasses just don’t fit my nose right. *hmph* This pair of sunnies really look good on me

So cool right I needed a proper hard shell sunglasses cover so my dear sister gave me this really cute hearts cover that she bought in Australia~

Prettier Pictures with More Lomo iPhone app

Wow. So I was at the Laurier event at Cineleisure to take part in their Shooting Star challenge. Team 58 = Priss + Sab = We won 6th place!

Sab then asked me to take some pictures using her iPhone because she wanted to use the More Lomo app for iPhone. When I found out that this app changes certain brughtness and hue settings, I was so amazed by the pictures that came out. Especially when you compare before and after pictures, the difference is really big!

This was originally a random, not so flattering, plain, no-make-up, picture of me. Using the More Lomo iPhone app, it became a less ugly, less plain picture~ My lips even looks red!

I was reading about this “lomo” thing, and apparently there’s a term Lomography From wikipedia: Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, “happy accidents,” and alternative film processing are often considered part of the “Lomographic Technique.” I love it! I’m gonna go check out Hipstamatic iPhone app pretty soon as well..

A Gamer Girl’s View on Guys Night Out

I can’t remember when was the last time I was excluded from a “guy’s night out” umm…. hmm… I think I’ve never been excluded from one before, or at least been told directly that I’m going to be excluded from one.

It’s scary that this is my first time experiencing a “guy’s night out” thing and I don’t know how to feel about it. I feel angry, sad, suspicious, outcasted etc. etc.

The reason why I always loved to tag along with a bunch of guys is, I feel so much more comfortable hanging out with guys than with the girls.

Seriously? I would feel more awkward if it’s with a bunch of girls!

Mind you, this is a gamer guys night out. A few of them haven’t met each other before. So it’s more awkward if a new girl joins them than a new guy joins them.

Just so it’s not double standards, I don’t believe in “girl’s night out” as well. Possibly because I don’t really enjoy them, with the exception of 1 bunch of girls I’ve been hanging out with for the past 10 years.

Girls in general are bitchy, conniving, obnoxious when they gather. Many things they do or say comes with hidden meaning or agenda. When boys gather, they just act stupid and lame. That’s my stereotype, and I definitely prefer the latter.

With a bunch of girls, they don’t understand when I tell them “I need to go back by 10pm because I have an online match”. I can’t boast to them my 1337 skills or levels. We can’t share our experiences of the latest games and gadgets. With a bunch of boys, we can talk about everything and look stupid, and it’s okay.

Guys seem to have a perception that girls can’t take racist, sexist, lame jokes. Or that us girls are easily offended by the slightest insult, or that we’re “party poopers”. Well, I can’t speak for other girls, but I’m definitely not one.

Looks like this Saturday I’m staying home, alone, like a man, playing computer games and watching anime. Otaku life FTW.

Blogger Slimming Challenge @ Glasshouse

I just visited Winnie last week at Cenosis‘s Glasshouse Challenge 2009 at Suntec and the glasshouse looked really awesome! It’s like a 2 bedroom condominium with a huge living room. It even comes fully furnished with a very pretty toilet and 24/7 airconditioned. Winnie will be living inside the glasshouse for a few nights OVERNIGHT

Winnie seems very excited about the entire weight loss challenge and she has lost more than 3Kgs within a week so far according to her blog… I’m so happy for her

Team Fortress 2 Malaysian Tournament 2009 [Pictures]

Let me repeat for those of you whom haven’t been following my blog…. My Team Fortress 2 team won the tournament held in Kuala Lumpur just last weekend! The whole team consists of pro Malaysian boys, except for me, nub Singapore girl -_-~! They’ll be sponsored by e-Club Malaysia to come Singapore in July 2009 to pit against our local players for TF2 Open category WCG National Finals.

It was really an eye opener for me, since I haven’t played in any gaming tournament since I quit Counterstrike years ago. I got to meet the other Malaysian players, and they’re really nice and friendly people

Fame vs Fortune: Blog to win $$

My dear friend Sab is holding a mini contest in her blog. Just blog about which would you chose: Fame or Fortune and stand a chance to win SG$50 and other mini prizes

I blogged about this topic for Gadget3 blog just a while ago, and my stand is, I would chose Fortune over Fame anytime. The reason being you can’t do anything with a little fame, but you can do alot with a little fortune

Basically, the reason why fortune trumps over fame is, the quantity is less significant for the former. If you are only “a little famous”, what does it even matter? If you have “some what a fortune”, you could do a lot more. Then again, one man’s meat is another man’s poison. It all boils down to which of the two brings you more happiness.

Or perhaps the reason why I chose Fortune over Fame is that it is more plausible for me to attain Fortune than Fame. Although both requires skill and luck, the latter requires a whole lot more than just a little lucky. You have to meet the right person, do the right thing at the right time, to be able to be noticed. Who knows how long will your fame even last? We’ve seen so many one hit wonders and big stars that comes and goes. Obviously if you chose to squander your fortune away, then you wouldn’t have any fortune for long as well.

A more interesting way of looking at this topic would be… do you think that a millionaire would give up his fortune to be famous? Or a celebrity giving up their status to be rich? Actually there are many mega super stars that leave a very important footnote in our history, I don’t think they’ll give that up for any amount of money.

Travelling to KL tomorrow!

I’m so excited about this road trip! To be honest, even though Kuala Lumpur is only 5 to 6 hours drive from Singapore, I haven’t visited the country for more than 4 years! I’m pretty sure that the country has changed alot since, hopefully for the better! I’m so looking forward to sitting on roller coasters in Genting and Sunway Lagoon’s theme park! I’ve also prepared a couple of hundred dollars to shop at Mid Valley shopping centre. I’ll try not to shop too much because I’ll be heading down to HongKong end of May with Sab and her sister… another shopping spree!
Speaking of Sab, that idiot, we were chatting in the car today and I was telling her how excited I was about the trip. As usual, the paranoia of dying a mysterious death swamped me, and I told her to take care if I get into some fatal hilarious accident in KL. She said “Eh, don’t die leh! I only have so few good friends!” WTF! We’re talking about MY death and she can only think about her having one less friend to bitch to! HAHA Selfish bitch! But ok la, the world revolves around me, and the world revolves around her, perhaps that’s why we’re good friends

The Otaku Diet

Weight has always been an issue to all women, it has been particularly difficult for someone like me – I was never a thin person. I don’t have a huge self-esteem issue when it comes to looking good, because I do think I’m attractive enough. However, girls being girls, nothing’s ever good enough, I want a flatter tummy!!! It can be a slippery slope, and I always monitor my thoughts, to make sure I don’t have any unhealthy thoughts such as thinking about going anorexic. I just want to be the size I was 3 years ago, before I went Australia and put on a good 8kgs.

I have been on a diet recently and it has been working out so far – I have lost 4Kgs in the past 2 months! The diet is called The Otaku Diet. Initially it started because I fell really ill and I couldn’t leave the house. I had to stay at home for almost 2 weeks, and do nothing but watch TV and play computer games. Slowly, my weight started dropping. Initially I thought it was going to be a temporary thing, and I will put the weight back on once I recover. However, since I have been playing Team Fortress 2 competitively for the past week, I have been doing nothing at home but play Team Fortress 2, watch TV / anime, and doing my assignments. As a result, I don’t consume much energy and I don’t feel the need to eat as much as before. I try to still balance my diet with fruits and vegetables, and always make sure I eat enough

Now, I just have to lose 4kgs more to hitting my goal. At the rate I’m losing weight – 1kg a week, I’ll be there in no time It’s sad that even when I reach my goal, I wouldn’t be considered a thin person, but working crunches and going for walks, I hope I’ll have a better figure.

It’s rare I discuss my personal life in my blog, but I have been talking to my TF2 friends over voice chat, and it’s really fun discussing these topics with them. It’s refreshing to talk to a bunch of 18 year olds, listening to their secrets on girls, looks, shopping, life, school, gaming etc. etc. They were even giving me tips on losing weight. Ha! As one of my friends say, I’m a Shotacon.
