The Porsche won because the race length was relatively short. Sab and I were burnt under the hot mid day sun and we were forced to wear safety green jackets at the grand stand. I was telling Sab the reason we were probably asked to wear the bright green jacket was so that any cars or planes around the runway wouldn’t accidentally knock us over!

Interesting race. However comparing a Porche to a 747 freighter is not fare.
A car magazine in the States had a race between the highest performance version of a Corvette against a U.S. Navy Blue Angel F-18.
A hot & fast car, against a hot & fast jet.
