Hi Pris,

Have been following ur posts on H1N1. I'm tracking this in my company now.

H1N1 is not deadly; it is rarely fatal. The deaths you see published by WHO are usually people predisposed to falling seriously ill even with a slight flu. This can include old people, people who have low immune system due to health complications or even young children.

For people like you are me, we are relatively safe. As they say, it is a normal flu.

Then it begs the question on why there was so much hype about it in the first place and about containment.

Well, this came about because H1N1 is highly infectious. So even if it is not deadly, health authorities are afraid that H1N1 will spread widely and later on mutate to gain immunity or be resistant to drugs.

You know how pple do not take their full course of antibiotics and stuff. By having a large pool of people getting the virus, the chances of mutation is higher.

It is this that the authorities are afraid of. They have tried containment for so long but to little avail. The only way now is to mitigate the problem by making sure pple get cured faster and stop spreading if possible.

So ya. Don't worry too much or quarantine excessively. Just take necessary precautions like dosing urself with vitamins, wash ur hands, avoid sick people and being mentally healthy.

cheers!
