I’m sure many of you have watched Susan Boyle’s astounding performance in British Got Talent 2009 by now.
She speaks like a country-side bum, ignorant and cheery. She wears an out-dated hairstyle and grandma clothes, talking to the judges with a pair of all eager eyes. What’s up with her?
After watching Susan Boyle’s performance, the crowd gave a standing ovation, and all the judges were dumb founded. I was getting all teary myself too. Why were we all so shocked and delighted at the same time? Was it because we assumed she was going to make a fool of herself? Does it even make sense to assume that one has no talent based on one’s looks? Susan Boyle reminds me of a time, where American Idol and all the various reality talent programs started, that people appreciated things more than looks. Susan Boyle reminded us that everyone is special, you don’t have to be a superstar to have talent, and superstars need not necessarily have talent too
