I just completed watching Macross Frontier after an anime marathon the past 3days. I must say, I’ve never been so taken in by any anime’s sound track before. Usually, I’ll just listen to the opening theme and don’t really bother downloading the OST. With the exception of Nodame Cantibile, which had mostly classical songs in the soundtrack, I can’t really be bothered to listen to sound tracks.
But WOW, Macross Frontier has REALLY REALLY good songs. The tunes are catchy, the lyrics fits into the story. The anime has two singers as the protaganists, hence the music actually mattered to the story.
I can’t even name my favourite songs from Macross Frontier because there are so many good ones!!!
I really like “What ’bout my star” and “Triangler” and “Aimo” and “Diamond Crevasse“… and so many moreee!!
The anime was entertaining, had beautiful characters, some love elements, mecha fighting, space travel… It’s definitely comparable to Gundam in terms of storyline, characters, music, animation.

well i dl-ed that soundtracks…. wasnt too impressed. not my cup’o tea yea. since im high, ill recommend u, ‘into the west’ by pilot speed.
Ah, sorry, I should’ve mentioned… You’ll only appreciate the songs from the soundtrack if you watched the anime. All the songs are tied to the plot, so each song has a special meaning at different parts of the story…
