During the whole Association of Bloggers Singapore (ABS) fiasco, I totally forgotten about The Digital Movement (TDM)!
The Digital Movement (TDM) is a dynamic, global community of digital professionals and enthusiast. Founded in 2006 by a group of passionate young people, TDM’s vision is to bring thought leadership in the digital space and is the catalyst that enables the community to learn and grow from each other. – TDM
Isn’t this similar to what ABS aimed to accomplish? Leadership in digital space, and a platform for the online community to learn and grow with each other. Hmmm. The membership with TDM is free, the events are proven to be good… so fresh my memory again, what’s ABS for?

you’re right! I’d forgotten all about The Digital Movement since seeing them in action at ix2007 (and painfully noticing their absence at ix2008).
The ABS disaster has put back the cause of Singapore netizens by I don’t know how much … and one of the insidious side-effects is to obscure and undermine the efforts of the true grassroots and community lead initiatives like TDM.
But maybe in the aftermath, good will come of it. I just registered for blogout 09 too, as much to show support than anything else. If the ABS hadn’t gone supernova in the way it did, I’m not sure I would have felt so compelled;-)

Exactly. Now that ABS is gone, it would seem like there’s no voice and no one to support the local online community… which is not true!
Weird no one brought that up previously, at least not that I noticed O_O

Thanks for supporting TDM. This is interesting, I never thought of TDM on the same line as ABS. But yeah I guess you got a point. TDM has a strong community and your support only makes it stronger. I’ll see you at BlogOut! =)
