on Feb 2nd, 2009Priss on The New Paper!

I’ve been quoted on The New Paper for my blogpost on Association of Bloggers (Singapore), ABS, yesterday! Wow. I still miss being a credible source for Maia Lee’s Wikipedia page, too bad someone had to remove the link :( Bloggers are getting more credible and our opinions are starting to matter more now? (irony)

Edit: I was told that some people were baffled by my statements above, I’m not very sure why. If the irony of bloggers becoming credible sources for “Wikireality” pages isn’t what you find humourous… then too bad. Perhaps some took my words literally, as in, that I think I am a credible source and that my opinions really matter. When I first got linked in Maia Lee’s Wikipedia page I thought it’s hilarious because I’m a nobody, and when nobodies’ words are cited as credible reference, it makes you wonder what else on Wikipedia, a place I get my information so often, are just words from other nobodies. Perhaps I’ll write another blog post about Wikireality another time :)

I don’t think it has got to do with bloggers more so to do with the medium itself. Any content that is not uploaded online is not readily searchable. I, for one, surfs and google for many things on a daily basis, I read the Wikipedia for interesting new knowledge and read blogs for opinions on certain topics. I’m sure many people uses the internet as a convenient tool to get information you need quickly.
