Ok, this may be a cliche topic, you’ve probably heard it a million times.

I believe that the path to happiness is parallel to how comfortable you are in your own skin. A friend recently asked me if I found him to be egoistic. He asked what could he do to make himself less egoistic. Well, my answer to him is – There’s nothing wrong about being egoistic. Well, nothing wrong so as long as you’re not ignorantly egoistic and you don’t hurt the people around you.

See, being selfish and egoistic is part of human nature, part of our survival. We have to care for ourselves first, then care about our families and the other people we care for, then the human beings, then the pandas. Everyone have to see themselves as the most important entity in their own universes as part of a survival skill set. Be it ourselves, or our genes as Richard Dawkins might debate, we are each and all – center of the universe.

This is what I truy believe in:

1. I think I’m one of the funniest person I know. Not many people I know come close to that. I make myself laugh very very often. Some of you may think it’s quite sad HAHA, but I keep myself happy :)

2. Though I’m not a supermodel, I think I’m super cute and pretty.

3. If you thought that the above point was very “buey hiao bai” a.k.a. thick skinned, well, as I’ve stated earlier, I AM the center of the Universe.

4. I chose brains over brawls anytime.

5. I think diet plans are for the weak willed. Yes, you do need a strong enough esteem to know that being underweight isn’t everything. But of course, I think I lack the discipline and will to exercise more as well :(

6. Looks ARE important, to the extent where it doesn’t cost you unhappiness. As in, if trying to look good causes you more unhappiness than not trying, don’t.

7. Being happy is everyone’s goal. People want to be rich, famous, powerful, beautiful, successful, popular, have a nice big family, be altruistic, have time…. all because we want to be happy, right? :)

What makes you happy now may not make you happy in later days.
