on Mar 30th, 2008Quit bitching about Maia Lee. She got pregnant so what?

I was told Maia Lee got pregnant with Zidov’s child, and frankly I wasn’t surprised.

After clicking on Ping.sg and reading another blog post about this news and the comments it received, I was surprised.

Why is everyone condemning her so badly instead of congratulating her? Why are we so quick to cast our judgment on her and her decisions? Are we seriously going to give her dirty looks because she slept with another man that is not her husband?

Had Maia gone for an abortion to keep it hush-hush, would people be happier?

But it doesn’t matter what others think. If you live your lives based on the happiness of others, what is your life worth?

Why I wasn’t surprised that Maia Lee’s baby’s father is Zidov…. because I knew that Maia hanged out with the contestants of the Contender Asia. She practices Muay Thai, like myself. I’ve met her a few times during the Contender Asia filming and she was really friendly~ (and she’s got very big beautiful eyes too). So she might have gotten close with Zidov and slept with him, so what? I’m not for casual sex, but I don’t believe in speculating the nature of their sex lives and be so quick to judge that she’s a whore.

How could some people say she’s trying to get attention?! Which part of getting pregnant with a guy you went out with is trying to get attention? Shit happens. Maybe the condom broke. But accusing her of getting pregnant to get attention? Are you crazy or do people have some kind of warped concept that when celebrities get pregnant it’s to gain attention?

The only thing I have to say about Maia being pregnent is… she should have done more about contraception if she did not intend to have a baby. And this advice goes out to all other ladies out there, go have a talk to your doctor about all the different kind of contraceptives there are.

And for the records, Zidov is a hot guy… so the baby should be blessed with good looks :)

Independent Thoughts:
Men who are on cialis might need to think about weight loss. Many think phentermine good enough for their health. The rest resort to plastic surgery.

i think what gets people riled up is how the emphasis is on “freedom to live your life” yada yada, when it’s not just HER life that is involved.

its her children’s lives too. she seems to think it’s all about herself and how she wants to live her life, free from judgement… i find that it’s perfectly fine to want ruin your own life. its a personal choice; go right ahead, but when her actions affect others… it no longer becomes “free-spirited” and a “good growing experience”.

in this case, her actions have resulted in actual human lives that will last for perhaps a good 80 years. her children may grow up fine, or NOT. what happens if her actions result in a horrible childhood for them? nothing small, nothing “free-spirited” about this.

i’m fine that she’s sexual and stuff, but she’s obviously not responsible enough to be having sex… case in point -> 2 unplanned pregnancies. i mean, really.

i guess 2 mistakes are still acceptable for some people… but i wonder, what would you think when the 3rd one comes along…?

There hasn’t been any news of whether Maia’s first child was unplanned, if you have been following the entertainment news all along. So how can one be too quick to say that her first pregnancy was unplanned?

In fact I have read somewhere that she ever mentioned that for her first child, it was a planned pregnancy.

And whether or not the kids will have a good life/future, their odds are as good as any of ours because I don’t think Maia is a bad mother in any way.

She had had a relationship with Zidov, but are friends only ‘now’, as opposed to what the other blogs and commenters have quickly assumed.

I praise her for her decision to have a baby, whether or not people are going to call her names. She would have expected all these and I believe she is having a hard time having to deal with a difficult pregnancy and all the public backlash.

Don’t be too quick to judge. I still think she is a good woman.

    Damn right.

Whatever happens, it’s her life. If she or here children have to suffer then so be it, that’s life.

Even if she is really trying to seek attention, so what?

I’m sure some bloggers are writing about her pregnancy only to get traffic as well. What about these people then?

I totally agree! I don’t think it’s anyone’s business to judge. Maia has done well bringing up one kid single handedly. She’ll do just as well with the 2nd kid. I’m absolutely positive!

These bloggers that are slamming her are a bunch of narrow minded Singaporeans. I wanna ask these people one thing…have you had sex? if the answer is no, you’re probably a liar. since the likely answer is yes, what would you do if you got pregnant or if you got your partner pregnant? It’s a question that’s difficult to answer unless it happens to you.

To the bloggers that have condemned Maia, you’re as juvenile as your blog. I agree with Priss. We should be congratulating Maia. I’m sure this baby is gonna kick like a champ!

    (btw Priss, nice blog!!)

maia lee is a bitch…she like proud of it…wtf cheap bitch

  7. brianon 31 Mar 2008 at 10:07 am

i don’t know if it’s all about judgement.

it’s been brought to the public light, and thus easy fodder for the public to pick up on.

on a personal opinion, i merely question the readiness of the couple to bring up a child in today’s world. there is nothing wrong with single mothers, although for Zidov to ‘just stay friends’ easily negates him from any sort of responsibility and commitment to bringing up his child to the best of his ability.

i agree, it’s too quick to judge, he may choose to stick it out in the long term.

so, our actions should speak louder than our words. maybe what gets me wondering about the couple’s actions is, is that if the baby is merely a by product of their sexual romps and instant gratification, how will they follow through to bring up their children to the best of their ability?

again, not a judgement call, but we needn’t be too quick in praising their efforts just yet either.

  8. Prisson 31 Mar 2008 at 10:17 am

    Noel: thanks~

brian: babies used to always be byproducts of sexual romps, that’s how we’re made. We want to have sex with an attractive person for reproduction and survival of our species. Catholic church are all for unplanned pregnancy - they said you shouldn’t use any contraception because you have to let nature take its course. Instead of pointing fingers at Maia Lee, how many of you out here are good Catholics that don’t use contraceptives?

  9. brianon 31 Mar 2008 at 10:40 am

no one’s professed to be a catholic, and we can leave religion out of this as well.

even without religion in the mix, sexually active couples can perhaps be more responsible about safe sex? again, i do not know if they failed to use contraception or if contraception failed them.

what i question is not moral values (on this blog), but more the argument of responsible sexual behaviour, that might end up in STDs or unplanned pregnancies.

from a pro-life point of view, i guess i would applaud them for choosing to keep the baby, and from a pro-choice point of view, i would applaud them for making a decision to keep the baby as well.

but what i think we should be wary of, is thinking the spur of the moment unprotected sex comes with little or no consequence.

Hey priss cool… found your blog haha… interesting! Maia really shock me. Damn I’m so out dated in muaythai and stuff like that. But I agreed with what you said it is her life and I’m glad Maia wanted the kid. If I ever to see her in my gym I’ll congratz her.

Darn wish I’m in SG now.

  12. Grakeon 01 Apr 2008 at 12:02 am

Yeah… Her baby muz be damn cute… I love mix-blood kids. Look cool! wonder her kid learning Muaythai. Hehe… will be so cute!

  13. Scallopon 03 Apr 2008 at 2:42 am

I am shocked that Maia got pregnant with a contender contestant. And she’s bragging about it in interviews and proudly saying that Zidov’s the father, etc. Honestly, I dont know what to think….lol. I bet Zidov can’t be bothered cos it was a casual thingy at least for him. He will pay some attention to her only because media attention will be on him till the issue dies down. Western men dont give a darn about Asians. Their typical perception is that Asian women are easy to bed. And obviously with all that hard training and all, he needed an outlet to cool off - the ever so ready Maia. The fact is western men are pretty liberal about sex. And like a friend of mine commented, the baby better turn out Zidov looking or rather ang moh looking!

  14. Tusharaon 14 Apr 2008 at 12:12 am

I’m not one to judge Maia bcoz of who she chooses to sleep with. But, that being said, I was at the contender asia finals and at the after party. She’s pregnant and she was SMOKING LIKE A CHIMNEY. Not very thoughtful I would say. You wanna go brag about a contender participant being the father of your illegitimate child, by all means go ahead. But if you’re deciding on keeping the baby, at least be responsible and not smoke during the pregnancy.
All those of you who wanna counter this reply, seriously, i suggest you take a time out and think about it. There’s nothing to congratulate or feel happy about. Any woman who smokes like that during a pregnancy doesn’t deserve to be a mother. And that’s a fact.

Maia’s a loserrrrrr. WHY??? Becos she got bang by Sylvester Sim, who’s a loser in entertainment and by Zidov, who is another loser and simply cant win a bloody match (albeit injury to opponent like Zach although Zach kick his ass during their rematch). Point is,a women like her, haha, there’s 100 of them lining Geylang…

  16. jujuon 10 Jul 2008 at 3:55 pm

Yes, I have had a bone to pick with Maia ever since she blogged that women who fight (unlike male fighters) look stupid, so she’d never do it herself.

Well, we all know what she thinks of male fighters…

For that comment alone, I would challenge her in the ring… but oops, she doesn’t want to fight cos she’ll look stupid.

So I wouldn’t say she practices Muay Thai, more like degrades it with her comments, and by posing topless in Muay Thai shorts, covering her boobs with her gloves.

Her big beautiful eyes - genes that won’t be passed to baby akuma cos they are the result of a lil’ nip tuck.

If you see her at the next time event, friendly word of advice. Wear a bra - there are better ways to get the fighter’s attention - plus - it’ll save the cost of a breast lift later in life.
