I’ve been blogging for more than a year now, although I’m not your hardcore blogger that blogs about everything everyday… Nowadays blogging is all about the juice.

First, you need a juicy headline.

A lousy headline:
Why no one reads my blog? :(

A good headline:
Sex scandals littered in my blog but no one interested?

A lousy headline:
My workplace is horrible

A good headline:
Stupid bitch at office. Office politics & Cat fights!

A lousy headline:
I lost my handphone

A good headline:
Bastard who stole my phone should rot in hell

A lousy headline:
Edison Chen is a bad boy

A good headline:
Edison Chen SEX maniac with pictures [NSFW]

A lousy headline:
Mas Selamat escapes

A good headline:
Mas Selamat f***s Singapore in the a**

A lousy headline:

Ping.sg new version out!

A good headline:
Will Ping.sg Stop Edison Chen?

So there we’ve seen some examples of what I think is a good headline and lousy headlines. No, I don’t mean they’re “lousy” headlines, but more like headlines that wouldn’t attract as many readers on blog aggregators such as Ping.sg

Newspapers and magazines need scandalous headlines too to boost their readership too… I have to make an honorary mention to “Wan Bao”, the Singapore Chinese nightly newspaper. They come up with the juiciest headlines.

This is a challenge for all my readers… come up with a “good” headline for SDP’s recent rough up with the police over a peaceful rally.

Here are some of the resources for you to read up on..

Singapore Police Force calls Dr Chee’s behavior ‘wilful civil disobedience’

SDP’s account on the rally outside Parliament

Unfortunately, I am also puzzled why CASE was allowed to hold a similar rally last year but SDP was denied the rights to hold such a rally and a little surprised at the police’s media release and the way they worded it.

This latest incident at Parliament House today saw an escalation in the level of defiance shown by Chee’s group; for the first time, the group staged typical militant protest methods of locking arms to resist arrest practiced by some protest groups in Western countries. The attack by Chee Siok Chin is also unprecedented and police are investigating into the matter.

They staged a typical militant protest methods? I am sure they arm locked each other AFTER being threatened to get thrown into a jail cell. Seriously, the police are scaring normal civilians like myself with their media releases…

Is Singapore a police state?

Wilful civil disobedience? Is this what they are calling protesters of political groups now? Scary.

Definition of a Police State from Wikipedia

The term police state is a term for a state in which the government exercises rigid and repressive controls over the social, economic and political life of the population, especially by means of a secret police force which operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional republic. A police state typically exhibits elements of totalitarianism and social control, and there is usually little or no distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the executive.
