Here’s my story….

Day: Tuesday (normal Tuesday, not a public holiday)
Time: 9.30pm
Location: Taxi stand Near City Hall MRT
Mood: VERY tired and grumpy.
Listening to: Equally angry commuters. (not an emo band)

I was unable to call through ANY OF THE SEVEN OF THE BOOKING NUMBERS listed next to the taxi stand near City Hall MRT. wait wait wait…. until 10.30pm then I was able to call through to book for a taxi. Got home at bloody 11pm !!!!!!!!!

Why didn’t I simply take the MRT? This is a game of gambling… 9.30pm start to wait for taxi… by 9.45pm I would have invested 15minutes of my time… by 10+ I’m already near the start of the queue and would have invested almost an hour of my time. What if the taxi miraculously appears AFTER I leave the queue.. then how !!

NO COMFORT HERE!!!!!!

The taxi problem in Singapore seems more real to me when I’m running late for an important dinner or meeting and knn there’s just no taxis around… All changing shift or “on call”… The taxi queues at Orchard Road are ridiculous. Are there really a lack of taxis in Singapore??
